Suzy O’ Mullane is an Irish visual artist, born in Liverpool U.K. and has been based in France since 2021. In 2022, she completed her Masters degree in Drawing with distinction at Paris College of Art, where she was awarded the “Félicitations du Jury” by external jurors for outstanding work. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art (Hons) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art and Design (CCAD) and a BA in English Literature from University College Cork.
O’ Mullane has been a full-time art practitioner since 1996 mainly focusing on painting and drawing. She has exhibited frequently in Dublin, London, New York, Berlin, Seattle, Miami, Toronto and Los Angeles, and has also been an invited artist at exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Berlin and Melbourne. Her work has been presented at Context NYC, Art Miami, Art Toronto, Art Chicago, Art Wynwood, Art Palm Beach, Aqua Miami, Pulse Miami, Art Seattle as well as several solo and group exhibitions internationally.
Since 2021, she has widened her 2D practice to include performance and writing, which aligns with her deeply personal, provocative, narrative-driven practice, To date she has created performances in Cork, Paris, Estremoz (Portugal), and in the Languedoc, sometimes collaborating with other creatives. Her videos have been presented twice at the IndieCork Film Festival, in Ireland and also in New York. She was co-founder and director of ArtTrail Cork (1996 – 2002), playing a pivotal role in its creation and development from a local visual artist event to a nationally renowned visual artist event involving over 200 artists before its closure in 2011.
